While recent years have seen the advent of foreign ownership of many machinery companies, Gabbett Group has remained 100% Australian owned.
“We’re proud of the fact we can sit here and honestly say we invest all our profits right back into Australia” said Barry Gabbett “It's important to us that we invest in Australia’s future, and the future of the Australian stone, glass, aluminium and woodworking machinery industries”.
Back in 1979 Barry Gabbett started selling woodworking machinery from his family home in the suburbs of Sydney.
The Gabbett Group has grown to a multinational company, with 7 offices, over 80 employees and Australia and New Zealand’s broadest range of stone, glass, and woodworking machinery.
Much of their success can be attributed to the foresight, hard work and perseverance of two men - Barry Gabbett and Brian Maher. Sharing between them a vast knowledge of woodworking machinery, having been involved in the industry since starting out as apprentice wood machinists.
