A family owned business, Modern Age Joinery has cemented itself as one of the premier kitchen & joinery companies in the South Island of New Zealand.
With a history spanning over 18 years in the industry, the company specializes in supplying top class kitchens to architects, designers and premium builders.
Grant Woodham, the Managing Director, has built the companies reputation to a point where today, his kitchens win industry awards, and regularly feature in exclusive magazines such as Kitchen Trends and Homestyle.
Grant started the business in the late 80’s, after spending time in both Australia and New Zealand learning all he could about all facets of the industry.
Today that knowledge has proven to be a major part in the company’s success, with Modern Age focusing on staying at the forefront of manufacturing technology.
This knowledge has also been a major benefit to the industry, with Grant spending two years as President of the NZ Joiners Manufacturers federation (NZJMF). Along with Grant, the company consists of his son, Graham Woodham, and a small but skilled team of tradesmen.
Each member of the company have their own areas of expertise, from machinists through to installers. A recent addition to the company has been the introduction of an SCM CNC nesting machine. As the most computer literate, and as the driving force behind its purchase, it fell to Graham to focus on utilizing this new technology to the utmost.
Both Grant and Graham spent considerable time researching their purchase of the SCM nesting machine. Both were always on the lookout for production methods that gave their company an advantage.
