Until now, the ancillary areas have not been properly catered for. The 2006 AWISA exhibition saw the release of the pack wrapping machines from the Gabbett Group.
Transport, shipping and freight all pose unique problems, with components being damaged and lost being a regular occurrence.
The SCM pack wrappers have various options available, allowing product to be shipped either flat packed or assembled. There are two feeding options both with height adjustable tables. The more popular automatic version was on display at AWISA. The automated version not only feeds the material through the wrapping machine. It also allows for varying feed speeds at different points. So, for example you can program a greater number of wraps at both ends of your product – the areas that are most susceptible to knocks or damage.
Alternatively, for longer work pieces, the wrapper can band only the ends. This ensures all components can be sent in one shipment and don’t get misplaced.
The front of the machine features a unique ‘open’ design allowing the spool changeovers to be done quickly.
