
At the recent AWFS
fair in Las Vegas the SCM group picked up one of the prestigious
Sequoia awards for “Leadership in Productivity”
The AWFS fair is held every 2nd year, with this years exhibition
proving to be one of the biggest on record. The event was held
at the Las Vegas convention centre in Nevada USA, with an
attendance of over 60,000.
The awards night was held at the Las Vegas Hilton, with a total
of 86 new and exciting products competing for the awards on
offer.
Judging in this category was by 13 industry professionals, all
of whom brought years of experience and industry knowledge to
the judging table. To ensure fairness, each entrant is rated on
a points system in different categories. These include quality,
production impact, practicality, innovation and user
friendliness.
Scott Phillips, as seen on cable TV show “the American woodshop”
presented the award to SCM for their latest release of the
Vanguard sliding table panel saw.
Based on SCM’s popular panel saw range, the Vanguard is a
computer controlled machine that brings an ease of use not seen
before at this level of technology.
Featuring a windows based, touch screen controller, the Vanguard
uses visual prompts and easy to read graphics to operate all
facets of the saw.
As one judge put it “this products adds a whole lot of high
tech, high productivity features to what has always been
considered a traditional machine."
